Mahdi Bakeri was born in "Miandoab" city, in 1954. In early childhood he lost his mother.He was the third son of the family: Ali, Reza, Mahdi and Hamid Bakeri. He spend the primary Education in "Urmia" and accepted in university exam. He graduated in Mechanical Engineering from University of Tabriz. During his education, he did activities against the Shah. He joined to the Sepah in the Iran-Iraq war.He was martyred in Badr Operation, in 1985.
During the revolution on 1979 Mahdi Bakeri joined to the revolution and just after revolution he was chosen as the mayor of Urmia, West Azerbaijan, Iran. Via start of the Iran-Iraq war he joined to the Sepah and became the commander of the Ashoura Corps, unit 31, which was belonged to the Sepah's Iranian Azerbaijan provinces branch.
Mahdi Bakeri has participated in sevsral operations: Fath Ol-Mobin, Beit Ol-Moqaddas, Ramezan, Moslem abn Aghil, Operation Dawn 1, 2, 3 & 4, Operation Kheibar and Operation Badr. Although his eye was wounded in operation Fath Ol-Mobin, he participated in operation Beit Ol-Moqaddas. He missed his brother, Hamid Bakeri, in operation Kheibar. He was an outstanding warrior who created many epics in the fronts of battle. He fought for honor of Islam and victory of Truth over Falsehood. He was martyred in Badr Operation.
